Feeling a little peckish?

Your tummy is rumbling, you got to eat something quick.

What do you have on hand? A chocolate bar, some sweets or crisps?

If you want to be productive, I would recommend you to give almonds and all their good nutrients a try.

Almonds are packed with vitamins, minerals, proteins and fibres. Ayurveda claims that almonds are energising and balancing for the mind. It is recommended to pre-soak almonds to ease digestion and increase nutrients absorption. Eating soaked almonds in the morning sets hydrochloric acid tolerance for the day and provide all-day protein digestion. Almonds should not be taken on an empty stomach, they should be accompanied with fruits. They are ideal for individuals with Vata dosha. =)

There are many benefits of eating pre-soaked almonds regularly. They are known as one of the best brain tonics. They are rich in essential fats and serves to improve memory and intelligence. Another benefit of eating pre-soaked almonds is an overall improvement of the texture of your skin. Almonds are an effective moisturiser for the skin!

There is no need to peel the skin as it contains anti-oxidants and it contributes to a significant part of the fibre content. Almonds are good for preventing diabetes, heart problems and cancer.

So what do you think? Would you soak almonds overnight? One way of doing it:

  • Rinse thoroughly almonds in water and soak almonds in the double quantity of water.
  • Cover the bowl with a fine cloth. Do not use a tight locking lid.
  • Soak the almonds at room temperature for 8 to 10 hrs
  • Drain the water and rinse prior to eating

My tip: ditch the White stuff! Yes, say bye bye to white bread, white pasta, white rice, white sugar and switch to whole grain foods. Why? Simply because whole grain foods contain all the good stuff that has been removed from the white stuff such as fibres. If you don’t want to switch then at least alternate and always eat with moderation!

Why add facial spray to your skin care routine?

-Tap water quality varies. I realised that when I moved from Geneva to London because I noticed my skin underwent unwanted changes…
How good would you rate the tap water you have access to? If it is of poor quality, then treat yourself and add facial spray to your routine. Your skin will love it! I would recommend anyone living in big cities to give facial spray a go.

Why ditch the towels and switch to tissues?

-After how many uses would your towel be dirty? Tissues are always clean, soft & practical!

4 steps routine

1)Wash your pretty face with tap water and preferably using a balanced ph cleansing foam

2)Without drying your lovely face use the facial spray

3)Take one tissue and softly dry your skin

4) moisturise with cream

Tap water for healthy & pretty skin?

Remember being taught that you were made of  75% of water? And let me guess, you’ve already come across the advise that drinking 1.5 to 3 litres a day was healthy?

Well, now what if tap water was not really clean? Did you ever think that drinking it could affect your body and eventually your skin?Toxin in, toxin out. Right?

Be aware that tap water quality varies depending on location. If you are not happy with yours and choose the pricey way of bottled water, don’t forget to recycle! And if you can afford a proper filter, definitely go for it. Still, do your own research before investing in an expensive filter.

Agonising in style vs glowing healthily

Do you wish your skin was healthier and more beautiful?

Well, I dare you to test your favourite product! Pour some of your makeup foundation in a glass of water, stir it with a spoon and watch what happens.

So tell me, does your foundation mix with the water? Or does it shrink and float? Is your spoon clean of foundation or does the foundation stick to the spoon? And is it easy or hard to wash it off?

The truth is that most makeup foundations block your pores. So I am pretty sceptical that they nourish and moisturize the skin. I understand that you want to hide your flaws and look your best. But be aware that applying makeup foundation might worsen your skin condition.

I was shown that simple test a while ago and realised that my makeup foundation was no good. I kept on using it, simply because I would not trash CHF.-179. But deep inside, I was pretty disappointed that such an expensive product would respond just the same as a £7 BB cream.

Which makeup foundation do you think is best for your skin? A sticky and oily one that is most likely to block your pores. Or, a none sticky and none oily one that lets you skin breath?
